We had a fantastic turnout at our Open Day on 16 May 2015, and the Steering Group would like to thank everybody who came to see us. Steering Group members found it fantastic to talk to the community about what matters most to you, your concerns and your ideas.
The format of the room was arranged with a welcome area with a Locality animated video explaining the concept of a Neighbourhood Plan in continuous loop. A children’s area with drawing and colouring materials was created. A projector and screen was available which projected maps of land identified in the East Herts Strategic Land Availability Assessment Study on continuous loop. There were five free-standing noticeboards, providing ten surfaces. These were used as ‘blank canvas’ to seek comments (negative and positive) on the following eight areas:
Environment & Water
Attendees were provided with a pad of sticky notes colour coded to the place that they lived or worked in the Neighbourhood Area, which were then used by them to record their comments against the relevant topics .
At intervals throughout the day a brief presentation was held explaining the concept of a Neighbourhood Plan, and playing a video from the Department for Communities & Local Government Neighbourhood Planning Summit (2015) of Dr Geoffrey Botting from the Woodcote Neighbourhood Plan explaining the benefits to their community of the Neighbourhood Plan process.
A total of 119 attendees registered, whose settlements were recorded as follows:
Colliers End: 7
Much Hadham: 1
High Cross: 1
The Steering Group now has its work cut out to process all of the many hundreds of comments that you have given to us!
